Those Damn Kids

I can recall back in the day when rendering simple hair movement took Sun SPARC's and a couple of days. Add in that the young are processing the speed in these things in a way that makes me feel like a toddling crone. Just damn.

I remember those Sun SPARC's very well. Very powerful for their day.

Some of my design students are doing amazing things with Canon 7D's, a steady-cam grip, and Macs...

Almost makes the hours of professional work on the old Sparcs look so amateur...

You guys know...the work that was required to get anything to look even remotely nice. Toy Story was sort of the start, I think. And all those kids were weaned on it.

Of course, then we start to move into the "is this evidence real?" level of work...and then anyone can be guilty.

Laura,

This is straight out of the "Final Fantasy" series of computer games. When it first started I thought it might be a trailer for a new installment.
