Not Gonna Work Through The Pain

Guess who is home till the decision to cut or brace is made? Yep. The big man went down hard on the knee and is now hobbling around. Just waiting for the MRI review to come through. And, hell, I can't read the things but this seemed pretty obvious...

Allow me to note he is NOT an easy patient. But at least I get to have him home. Er...well...yeah. We'll go with that.

Ever tried to get a Ranger to slow the hell down and chill out? Not gonna happen.

Oh, ouch!

Just. . . ouch!

Poor dears! He's home, but he's a wounded animal. Just throw raw meat into his den and shut the door until he settles down, honey.

You're both in my thoughts and prayers.

Not far from it, smarty! It was venison, a bit rare. And now some blueberry muffins fresh from the oven just to see if that takes it back a notch.

If not, it will be time for meds and bed.

My hopes and prayers for him and you.

Oy. Ouch. Hope he recovers fast and takes care of himself. However...a Ranger never slows down.

Aiyiyiyiyi! I've always said it's not the years it's the miles. Tell him I'm sending out my best 'heal quickly' thoughts and hoping for no surgery.

Thanks to all of you for the prayers!! He is coping well - I'd be bed-ridden and weeping, I think.

He casually walks to the truck saying he hopes the knee doesn't go all backwards on him as he has seen happen before (football field) to others. My belly churned at the mere thought.

Just the hurry up and wait for the news...

Just so you know, I have a good friend (Rugby player) who had two knee surgeries. The first one didn't work, and the second one made it worse. The doctors can't seem to fix it, and they both were done at Duke, which is well known for knee replacements. I guess it depends on the injury, and the person. If there is anyway to avoid the knife...avoid it. Replacing joints is about as major as it gets.

Yabu, I am very familiar with the hit or miss nature of the surgery - I really am hoping we can avoid it.

But as Trooper says - it has to be as right as it can be. He has a long row to hoe, still...he is gonna need both knees to be workin'...

Knees, elbows - they both can open a world of hurt. You have my sympathy, carefully measured out in fluid ounces. Damn, but my sister just got a hip replacement. At least he's not a Defensive Tackle with both knees done front and back, I understand those repairs only last about ten years...
